One of my work out plans was to work on my breathing during exercise. I remember the strategy of keeping your pedal cadence constant and shift gears to maintain that cadence. How would this work for my respiration?
If I am riding along a level route I can keep the a steady pace. The wind could make in easier or harder. When it gets harder I will have to stop to catch my breath. What I would work on is to adjust my pace so I will not have to stop that frequently.
Focus on the breathing. Feel your heart rate, have a good sense of your threshold and look at the path ahead. Putting all those aspects will help develop your consistent pace.
