There really was a twenty mule team pulling the borax wagons. An empty wagon weighed 7800 pounds and filled with 14 tons of borax. The wheels were 8' wide to handle the soft ground. Water wagons were needed to survive the desert. 20 tons was the total pulled by those strong mules. Wow! A recreated mining town. 3/4 buildings are fixed up originals. A nice way of feeling what it was like in the day.
