When the route went toward Santa Fe, yes, but on this leg, no. The Santa Fe Trail originated in Missouri where the starting points west were and went across Kansas and ended in Santa Fe. The Spaniards began this route in the late 1700s as they set up the missions. The route was the basis for the AT &SF railroad. Roy Cline bought his first property for a service station in 1937. He relocated twice to adjust to the route changes. Cline's Corners are going strong still today. It got restocked and re-energized.
